the last time you heard from me was about 3 weeks ago which means you deserve an update. both of you deserve an update…
i looked up my stats since my last post (sep. 10th) and as it turns out, i’ve played 510 games for a whopping $209 profit. go me! so let’s see…510 games played over 22 days is about 23 games a day. to put that in perspective a little bit, 510 games should be about a weeks worth of work for someone who is relying on poker to pay their bills. i think it’s safe to say i’ve been pretty burned out lately…
the good news is that i’m slowly gaining some motivation to play again. the holidays are coming up which means not only do i need extra money for travel and gifts, i need some extra money to make ends meet while i’m not playing (which i can’t really do when i’m home). knowing that i have 2 months to get some funds together is solid motivation.
i’ve also been reading a few blogs from different poker players and a few of their posts made me realize how much easier this would be if i really had my ducks in a row. having 6 months worth of bills saved up would really take a lot of pressure off this situation and i might even be more motivated to play. i know that may sound a little backwards, but i seriously think if i had a cushion of 6 months worth of bills, i could be a LOT less results oriented and playing wouldn’t be as stressful as it currently is. when i first moved to l.a. in may i had a decent amount of money saved up and i was putting in a good amount of volume. i played 1264 games that month and i remember it being a lot less stressful…i have solid stats at the games i’m playing right now so the real battle is just sitting down and playing. a lot.
today i played 72 games. it took me about 4.5 hours total, which wasn’t so bad. hopefully i’ll have a few days where i can play more than this, but i think i’m going to make 70 my daily target number. a lot of the regulars i see at my tables put in 100+ everyday, so this really shouldn’t be too hard on me. i need to think of something small to reward myself with at the end of the month so if you have any ideas, leave a comment 
sort of a boring post, but hopefully it will get me going in the right direction. see you tomorrow with an update of how many games i played!

On a side note, yours is one of the few blogs I can actually access from my nazi-like internet killer here at work. No blogs or personal pages for us. Unless, for some reason, the blog in question doesn’t look like a blog to the software. But, I digress.
I can’t think of anything cool to buy. How about a run down to San Diego? too big?
