Mile high post
Welcome to my first in-flight blog post. We left minneapolis about 30 minutes ago and since I have this nifty wordpress app on my phone and about 3 hours to kill, I figured I’d do a little writing/reflecting.
My trip home was great. I did a lot of nothing the whole time I was there and I feel pretty rested at the moment. At the bottom of this post is a picture of my dog, gert, that I took with my phone when I woke up my first morning home. We spent a lot of quality time together.
Thanksgiving day was kinda crazy as we had 15 people over for the big meal but other than that, it was pretty relaxed. I caught up with my best friend matt last night which was great. Him and I did everything together in high school and although I hadn’t seen him in a long time, it was as if nothing had changed. We spent about 5 hours drinking and catching up and I’m looking forward to hanging out with him again when I go back home for Christmas. We talked about taking a roadtrip down to Minneapolis when I come back home to see our good friend bud. I really hope that happens.
So now my mind is back on poker and what I need to do to reach some of my goals over the next three weeks before Christmas.
One thing I’m considering is working the 45 mans back into the mix. The 18s have gotten pretty tough with regs lately so playing the 45s could be good. My plan at the moment is to play the 45s during the day and the 18s at night. I hope to see fewer regs in the 18s this way. It will be nice to take advantage of the synced breaks during the day too. I also figure the breaks will allow me to play longer sessions during the day and shorter sessions at night when I may be a little more fatigued. I’ve been studying a lot of cEV (chip equity) spots in my 18s so that should carry over to the 45 mans nicely as well.
Once again I’m gonna raise the bar and try to complete even more games in December. The goal is going to be 130 games a day for 25 days. That gives me 6 cashouts before Christmas and should set me up with a healthy bankroll to start the new year with. I haven’t ruled out playing over that Xmas vacation so I’m leaving that open if I decide I need an extra day or two to get there. My dad’s aircard seems solid enough for me to multitable on and he’s thinking of getting one of those verizon mifi devices just for the house so mom has internet so that might be available to me as well.
So, cliff notes are I’m rested and ready to hit it hard again. Also, lookout for me in the 45 mans.
That’s all for now. Typing on this tiny screen was fun but now it’s time to close my eyes for a bit and wait to land at lax. Bring on the warmth.
