haven’t played too much over the last few days because our AC has been out and it was just way too hot in my room to sit there for that long, trying to concentrate. this morning i finally moved my desk and chair downstairs where it is a little bit cooler and played 55 games. the internet started going out at the end of the session and has been kinda bad the last few hours but i hope to get a few more games in tonight if it comes back to an acceptable level…

sharkscope is telling me i played 60 games today but another program i use to keep track of my games played told me 61. we’ll just say 60 for now, bringing my total to 561 for the month.

in other news, i made a new friend tonight. on many of my tables tonight was a player by the name of ’skeemer1.’ from what i gathered by his play tonight, he doesn’t like folding to me. to my knowledge, he and i had no history together before tonight so i’m not sure what i did to get on his radar. here’s a pretty terrible call he made on one of my tables:

i could be wrong, but that seems like a horrible spot for him to take a race, especially when there are 40 combinations of hands (all pairs bigger than 44) that have him crushed. i think i can actually shove lighter than AKo here now that i know what he’s capable of raising utg (for the non-poker readers, utg is ‘under the gun,’ meaning he’s the very first player to act before the flop)

this next hand is a VERY rare play for me. i’m actually trapping him with a very mediocre hand here, because i know what he’s capable of.

i can’t remember the exact number of games i played over the last couple days but i do know that i played 56 games today. i also know my total games for the month is 497. i’m definitely not keeping up with my 70 games a day goal but i think i’m still on track to beat my monthly record for games played.

i booked a pretty expensive plane ticket tonight to visit my family in duluth over the thanksgiving holiday so hopefully that’ll give me some motivation to play more. the combination of the ticket price and the cost of not playing for 5 days is gonna hurt the pocket book so getting some extra games in before that trip is a must. i’m also running pretty good lately so let’s hope that continues.

yesterday i went to the 4+ hour dodgers game (1st game of the playoffs) right after my workout and today my brain didn’t really feel too sharp up until about 9pm tonight, therefore, i haven’t played much poker. i just finished a session of 38 games though, so at least it wasn’t a full two days off.

hopefully i can get close to 100 games in tomorrow. we’ll see…
